What is Giving Tuesday?

Giving Tuesday is a generosity movement that started in 2012. It was created to encourage people to contribute to their communities and beyond. This amazing day of giving has helped countless organizations and has grown into a year-round global movement that inspires millions of people to give, collaborate and celebrate generosity. In that spirit, we hope you will consider donating to the Boyertown Community Library this season.

Making a Difference with Your Donation

By donating to the library, your kindness will make a lasting difference to the vital services we supply to you and the community. We have a wonderful collection of books and resource materials, but we are so much more than that! We pride ourselves in being a place where people can gather, discover and learn.

As you may already know, the library is facing some financial challenges in 2025 due to rising costs. Many people use the library as a place not only to find their next read, but also to socialize and meet friends. We are a place for everyone to feel accepted and part of the community. The library would not be able to offer such wonderful possibilities to so many without YOUR help!

Below are just some of the things that your generous dollars can help support at the Boyertown Library:

Expanding Our Collections

Our collections include Picture Books, Middle Grade, Young Adult, Graphic Novels, Mystery, Biography, Magazines, Puzzles, Historical Fiction and the list goes on! We also have the popular Library of Things!

Supporting Our Educational Programs

We offer a variety of programs for people of all ages! We have Story Time, Musical Guests, Senior Workout Mix, Informative Seminars, Game Nights, Painting and Cooking Classes just to name a few! These programs would not be possible without help from Grants and Donors like you!

Maintaining Our Historic Building

Our beautiful, historic building was once a bank and our Board has done a wonderful job spearheading the initial renovations. Moving to this location allowed the library to have more space for programs, resources, etc. It is a joy seeing our patrons making memories in the new building. Your donations aid in keeping it running and in good condition!

Keeping Up-to-date with Current Technology

Partly due to donations we received last year, we were able to upgrade our computers in the main area of the library. The last time they were updated was 2012 and we were so grateful for the financial support. We are hoping to upgrade some of the computers in the children's area to the most recent versions of the AWE Learning Stations. They can cost between $2,500 and $3,500 a piece and include interactive programming with touch screens. They are fantastic tools to help aid learning in a myriad of subjects including math, reading and foreign languages. Having these computer systems available is particularly important for any of our patrons who do not have access to them at home.

Please help us reach our goals so we can continue to be a wondrous place for people to gather and learn. Your help is essential to the future of the Boyertown Community Library!

Matching Program

On December 3, for Giving Tuesday, some companies have a Matching Program for their employees who make a donation to a non-profit!

Be sure to check with your employer about any possible matching programs they may have. You may be able to double your donation to the library, and any organizations you decide to spread kindness to this year!
