Throughout this year, I told anybody that would listen that 2018 was probably one of the weakest years for music over the past decade. While there were many albums and songs I enjoyed, I felt that the year overall was missing the spark that was present over previous years (especially 2010, 2012, and 2017). But as I looked back on this 2018 in preparation for this list, I realize that there was actually a ridiculous amount of great songs that came out. And while this year maybe didn’t produce as many classic albums as I would have liked, there are definitely some that are worthy additions to my musical canon. 2018 was a wonderful year overall. It was the year of my perfect miracle Ellison Lyric. It was the year The 1975 released a new classic in the nick of time. And it was the year that according to Spotify, I became a full blown Swiftie. Cheers to a great 2018, an even better 2019, and Beyond!
