About Me
I am currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering and Decision Analytics at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Prior to this position, I was a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the IEOR Department at Columbia University. I was under the supervision of Prof. Agostino Capponi, Prof. Garud Iyenger, and Prof. Daniel Bienstock.
I obtained my Ph.D. in Operations Management from the Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University, where I was fortunate to be advised by Prof. Nicola Secomandi and Prof. Selvaprabu Nadarajah.
Research
I am broadly interested in addressing energy related challenges in the business domain with an emphasis on renewable energy operations, using cutting edge techniques from approximate dynamic programming, reinforcement learning, and game theory.
In particular, my research has focused on
Enhancing decision making in realistic energy commodity trading and conversion processes by developing approximate dynamic programming and reinforcement learning approaches
Improving energy market efficiency, particularly the efficiency of electricity market, using game theoretical models
Studying the impact of renewable energy transition on current fossil based systems
