- August 22, 1965- Bruce and Brian Reimer are born to parents Ron and Janet Reimer.
- February 1966- Bruce and Brian are both diagnosed with phimosis and were recommended for circumcision.
- April 27, 1966- Bruce Reimer undergoes a botched circumcision, leaving him without a penis.
- November 1966- The Gender Identity Clinic is opened at the John Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland and is lead by Dr. John Money.
- February 1967- Dr. John Money appears on television to speak about the new gender clinic. Ron and Janet Reimer watch Dr. Money speak and write a letter to the doctor about their son, Bruce.
- June 1967- Ron and Janet Reimer make the heavy decision to turn Bruce into Brenda and the first surgery on their son takes place.
- December, 1972- Dr. Money publishes his current findings on the case of Brenda Reimer and declares it a success. Unfortunately, Brenda is forced to repeated the first grade while her brother, Brian, moves forward, leaving Brenda behind and struggling.
- March 14, 1980- Brenda Reimer is informed by her parents that she was indeed born a male. Brenda transitions to David just a few short months later through the ages of 14-21.
- March 10, 1997- Under a changed name, the entirety of David Reimer's case is published, declaring the case to be a failure and not a success. Dr. John Money is heavily discredited and essentially goes into hiding.
- December 11, 1998- Journalist John Colapinto published a 20,000 word feature story in Rolling Stone titled The True Story of John/Joan.
- February 2000- John Colapinto publishes a book with David about his life titled, As Nature Made Him. This is the first time that David Reimer's identity is put out into the open.
- December 7, 2000- The documentary The Boy Who Was Turned Into A Girl airs on BBC.
- July 1, 2002- Brian Reimer, twin brother of David, commits suicide and sends David spiraling into a deep depression.
- May 4, 2004- David Reimer commits suicide.
- November 4, 2004- BBC releases another documentary about David Reimer titled, Dr. Money and the Boy with no Penis. It includes clips of David Reimer from the previous documentary made about him.
