Oh Kelby! Thank you for this! I have been admiring your boxy pouches for such a long time, and it's awesome that you were willing to share the pattern with us. I can't wait to make a couple - for me, and it's perfect for gift-giving. Thank you SO very much!

thanks! You know...should I unzip my zipper at some point???

HA! Just kidding! That is the BEST advice, and guess how I know that??? Looking forward to using your well written and photographed tute! Thanks! Sue.

Thanks for the lovely tutorial. You're so smart to stress opening the supra, and also centering the tab. I've made both mistakes myself. As far as centering the tab, I find a zero centering ruler extremely helpful here. I use it for all kinds of sewing tasks when I need The exact center marked.

I've been wanting to sew a makeup bag for over a year. Tonight I found this tutorial on pinterest and made one right away. Even with 7 kids plus 2 more friends sleeping over I managed to sew up the entire thing this evening. I used a 14" zipper, cotton duck toile, and some "too light" interfacing I had on hand. It turned out great. The tutorial is superb. Thank you. I'm planning on making my boys camo boxy bags next.

Oh my goodness, how lovely for you to share your major skills and pattern. Thank you so much

I want to make this immediately. What a special gift this would make for a ... sister, or another beloved friend.

Your tutorial is perfectly written.

Many thanks

Hi, you mentioned to experiment with the sized of the boxed corners. If this is right in my head...smaller boxed corners make shorter boxes, right? Thanks for a great tutorial, going off to make six of these for friends!

Just came across your blog and have read through many of your fantastic tutorials. Thanks so much for sharing common mistakes, great tips and ways to personalize patterns. Love your instructions and you have perfect pictures to go along with your detailed steps. What a gift to those of us just getting started with the mechanics of bag making. MANY THANKS

Hi Kelby!, Thanks so much for this incredible tutorial!

So sorry I have a wee question. I'm very new to bags lol. :D

I love this lil pouch so, so much! I was hoping to add a handle (I saw the link to pink stitches handle pouch - also awesome!)

My question is....is it possible to use pink stitches strap technique with your pouch design?

I've been looking at both patterns for ages and I cant figure out if I can and I only have one zip to try lol!

When you are at the 'cutting small corners out from edge' stage in this pattern, can you just add the handles then as well?

Hope that makes sense! Thanks for any help you can give!!

Cotton Bag Custom Print

Thank you for posting such a great tutorial.

I have made boxed pouches in a variety of

ways and this pattern and tutorial is by far

and away the best one that I have used. It is

a great size and perfect shape.

Agustina is a simple and slightly cropped boxy top with round neckline and cuff sleeves. And sometimes simple is best. An ideal beginner sewing project, this top sews up in just a couple of hours and requires very little fabric. We chose to make this top in our gauzy open weave linen that has a unique slightly sheer look making it ideal for summer.

Such a great basic pattern, it's guaranteed to become one of your favorites. Plus, it lends itself to so many simple hacks to make it your very own. You can lengthen the hem and turn it into a dress, or transform cuffs into long sleeves, or add a belt.

I am retired and new to sewing. I've heard so much praise about this lovely top but I'm nervous about sizing. I am HB 101, FB 112, W 98, H 116. Will I need to perform a dreaded FBA and how? Regards, Sandra

Hello Sandra, Some customers find this design can be forgiving without an FBA, but if you usually find you need extra room, you can follow our FBA tutorial. Here is the link: blog.fabrics-store.com/2023/04/09/sewing-glossary-full-bust-adjustment-tutorial/

Layering is accessible through Adobe Acrobat Reader. For detailed instructions please see the article on the topic in our Help Center. Copy and paste this link: support.fabrics-store.com/hc/en-us/articles/360057105032-Downloading-and-Opening-Free-pdf-Patterns-on-a-Computer-PC-and-Mac-

Hi! Once you are logged into your Fabrics-Store.com account - the Free Download button appears next to the pattern. I will post the image of where to click in the finished garment photos :)If you are still having a hard time finding it - just give us a call and we will walk you through it. Have an amazing day!

Rather than folding your fabric in half with the selvedges meeting, open out your fabric flat then fold the selvedges into the middle of the fabric. This will give you two folds to place your pattern pieces for the front and back :)

This was my very first time sewing a shirt and following a pattern to completion. The instructions were easy to follow, and it made the process quite enjoyable. I love the result and will make this shirt again. Thank you!

I love this top, and will definitely make more of them. I found that it runs big, so I sized down one size, and may go down one more size next time. I used IL019 bleached with signature finish. I lengthened the back, and added some embroidery with linen thread I was gifted. I love the finished shirt. Thank you sooo much for this free pattern.

Thank-you for this amazing easy FREE pattern!! I made 2 in one day, one in 8/10 which was a tad big so made another in the 4/6 and it is just perfect. So simple, the instructions were clear and the linked bias neck tutorial was so helpful!

My mockup for the Agustina Top pattern. Fits very nicely and I'm quite picky on fit. I'm 5'7" and wearing/made a size 8/10 from the pattern. I will experiment with making a size smaller as it is fairly roomy, but certainly wearable also. I lengthened the pattern 2 inches and it's perfect for tucking in or wearing out - both. hem pictured is zigzagged only. It has made it past mockup rounds and will be going into something permanent. excited! I highly recommend the pattern, it works up beautifully and super easy!

This top is super easy to construct and yields an extremely professional finish with very little effort. I made it for a trip to Morocco, and it was perfect. It features a modest neckline, and a loose fit, while still looking polished. I will be making more of these!

I love the Augustina pattern! I made 3 different tops....One with linen, and the other two with cotton. I also added some elastic in the front for a little ruching effect. I should've taken a picture wearing them, but this is what I already have.
