I am a Senior Research Associate with the Education & Skills Team at The Conference Board of Canada. I earned my Ph.D. in Economics at Simon Fraser University, and M.A. in Economics at New York University.
My primary research interests are applied econometrics, labor economics, and development economics. My thesis, titled Mapping Gendered Journeys: Women’s Labour Market Outcomes, Cultural Norms and Family Dynamics in China, examines how family structure affects individual education and labour market outcomes, gender norms, and the intergenerational transfers, through the lens of gender heterogeneity in the context of the One Child Policy in China.
Besides academic research, I also enjoy teaching as an instructor and teaching assistant in undergraduate core courses such as intermediate micro- and macroeconomics.
