In conclusion, waters are rising at an intimidatingly fast rate globally, which is increasing every year. Even small increases in sea level rise can have devastating effects for the world later on. Sea level rise can cause destructive erosions, wetland flooding, aquifer and agricultural soil contamination with salt, and lost habitats for fish, birds, and plants. This website was made to serve the purpose of public education about the risks waiting to happen for coastal communities around the world.
Even if the rise of seas cannot be reversed in the near future, humans can slow the rate of exponential increase in sea level rise. Individuals should calculate their carbon footprints to learn how much they contribute to climate change. By informing ourselves, we can make better choices to save our planet from sea level rise. We should preserve wetlands, plant more trees, promote renewable energy sources, but most importantly, educate the public vigorously about sea level rise to achieve the goal of slowing the rise of waters around the world.
If we take action, we can do it.
