The United Arts Council of Raleigh and Wake County offers a program called Artists in Schools, through which schools and PTAs can obtain noncompetitive grants towards programs for students and staff. Our Cultural Arts Representative aims to book relevant, engaging artists to provide a comprehensive educational experience.
A few times per school year, the BRES PTA sponsors social events for all students, staff, and their families. This is a wonderful opportunity for everyone in the BRES community to come together and have fun.
The Reflections Art Program is a National PTA program designed to provide opportunities for recognition and access to the arts which boosts student confidence. Each fall, students are invited to create original works of art that represent what a designated theme means to them. There are six categories: Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, and Visual Arts. All pieces are reviewed at the school level, and some are even selected to move on to county, state, and national judging.
Our PTA hospitality team feeds and pampers our school staff, as well as the occasional campus guest. We recognize how hard the BRES staff works and want them to feel loved and appreciated.
When financially feasible, the PTA offers classroom teachers a mini grant opportunity. The mini grant provides educators with an opportunity to obtain additional resources to enhance the educational experience of their students.
