The OU campus at Walton Hall is situated in the east of Milton Keynes (MK). MK is easily accessible by rail and from the train station there are several options. There is an extensive 250km network of 'redways' in the city for cycling and walking that avoid the roads.
By rail to MK
The campus is 6km from Milton Keynes Central railway station, served by the West Coast Main Line between Birmingham and London (Euston).
By bus from MK to campus
There are regular buses that stop 20 minutes' walk from campus but only a limited service that stops on campus. The quickest way to walk is mainly via parkland but one can walk along the road instead. Note that some buses stop on big roads and you need to walk through an underpass to cross them; make sure you are on the right side of the road for the bus stop!
Morning option 1: The 8/8A service from the train station stop Y3 in the direction of Walnut Tree, Walton High School runs every 20 minutes. The only buses that stop on campus are those leaving the train station at 0655 to 0835 inclusive. At all other times, get off at Walnut Tree roundabout south and walk for 20 minutes.
Morning option 2: The 5/6 service from the train station stop Y1 in the direction of Newton Leys/Bletchley runs every 10-15 minutes. Get off at Netherfield, Langland School and walk for 20 minutes.
Evening option 1: The 8/8A service from campus in the direction of Westcroft and Oxley Park runs every 20 minutes from 1545 to 1805 inclusive. At other times (every 20 minutes), walk to Walnut Tree roundabout south to catch the bus.
Evening option 2: The 5/6 service in the direction of Wolverton runs every 10-15 minutes. Walk to Netherfield, Langland School to catch the bus.
Other options from MK to campus
Bike: Santander Cycles MK operate hire bikes, there are docking stations at the train station and on campus. You need to register on the nextbike app.
Walk
Taxi: Available from just outside the rail station. Indicate on the registration form to be put in touch with others to arrange shared transport by taxi.
By car to campus
Use the postcode MK7 6AA for satnav. Upon arriving on campus, proceed through the security barriers after being given access, follow directional signs to Berrill Building Reception and Visitors Car Park. Parking is free.
