Coach Kristi comes with nearly a lifetime of cheer experience. She began cheering at the age of 4. She cheered through elementary and high school. She graduated from Shelby County High School where she was named "Female Athlete of the Year" in 1993, and made the coveted Universal Cheerleaders Association All-Star team. After high school, she cheered at the University of Louisville where she was also member of the Universal Cheerleaders Association staff, and spent her summers teaching cheer camps at college campuses. After graduating from the University of Louisville, she moved to Cincinnati to pursue a dream of cheering in the NFL, and made the 2000 Cincinnati Bengal "Ben-gals" cheer team. In 2002 Kristi moved back to Louisville and began her career as a teacher. After coaching for 15 years in the middle school realm, she took a break from cheer and served on the athletic board at Eastern High School where her son played lacrosse. Kristi came out of retirement in 2024 when she was asked to help at Nelson County Middle School, and spent year 16 coaching Nelson County Middle School. Kristi has coached squads to national and state titles in her career.
She now resides in Bardstown with her husband Troy Adams. She has a son Kaden and step children Bailey and Tanner. She is a Regional Sales Director for ManhattanLife Insurance Company by day, and coach/ director to the QUEENS as her favorite evening hobby.
Meet student coach Lacey Miller. Lacey is a senior at Nelson County High School. Lacey has been involved in cheer from the age of 4 when she began in gymnastics. Her love of tumbling took her to the competitive cheer world in 2017 with the former "Bardstown All-Stars" team and she stayed in the competitive world with the Bardstown team (later Bluegrass Elite and then Empire Athletics) until it dissolved and then moved to Central Kentucky Athletics. With these programs she competed in numerous competitions and won celebrated accolades. After a wrist injury and being unable to physically cheer, Lacey hung up her pom-poms. However, she has loved the bond created inside of a cheer family and has such a strong love of the sport that in 2024 she agreed to help coaches Kristi Adams and Emily Crume coach the Nelson County Middle School team and her love of coaching blossomed. Lacey also works with young children at a daycare, and it has made her a wonderful team liaison as she takes care of the squad members. We are happy to have Lacey Miller as our student coach and liaison for Bourbon City Cheer.
