Stella Rocha was born in Maré Alta, the daughter of Guilherme Rodrigues, an office worker, and Daniela Rocha, a housewife. From an early age, she faced challenges in school, especially with reading and writing. Without understanding the origin of her difficulties, her parents often scolded her, believing that her poor performance was due to lack of discipline. The situation didn’t improve at school either, where the lack of adequate support and the pressure for high grades stressed her daily. This all culminated in her failure, which deeply affected her self-esteem.
When Stella repeated the year, she felt out of place, isolated from her classmates, and extremely demanding of herself, especially in the subjects she struggled with, such as grammar and literature. Even though she was shaken, she continued trying to study on her own, but the following year, the situation repeated itself, and she failed again. Devastated and constantly arguing with her parents, she started running away from home and skipping classes, finding refuge in the Exilados, a group of rebellious youths who shared her feelings of revolt.
It was within the group that Stella grew close to Maria Luiza, better known as Malu, a young woman three years older, with dyed hair and a confident, creative personality. Stella quickly fell in love both with Malu and her music and paintings, which often depicted her fights with her father, a high-ranking military officer. They spent a lot of time together, and Malu often comforted her, offering support when she cried about her school struggles and issues with her parents.
Over time, Stella discovered that Malu’s favorite book was "As Estrelas Ignoradas". Intrigued by the discovery, she wanted to read it to get closer and impress her friend. One day, determined to get the book, Stella went to a small bookstore in the city. There, she found a copy and, without thinking twice, hid it inside her jacket before trying to sneak out. However, as soon as she crossed the door, a large man with long braids grabbed her by the shoulder, and in the shock, the book fell to the floor, revealing the theft. Scared, Stella froze, wondering what he would do with her. To her surprise, the man calmly told her she could read the book right there, without needing to pay. He then smiled gently and went back to the counter, leaving Stella confused but relieved. Still stunned, she decided to follow his advice, sitting down and hesitantly starting to read the first chapter until the end of the afternoon.
The next day, Stella returned to the bookstore to continue reading the book. As she slowly progressed through the pages, the man behind the counter watched her with a curious but discreet gaze. After a while, he approached, introducing himself gently as Heitor. Noticing her struggle, he asked if she was having difficulty reading. Embarrassed, Stella lowered her eyes and buried her head in the book as if she could hide between the pages. Heitor, however, did not insist, only giving a knowing smile and returning to the counter, leaving her at ease.
The next day, Heitor approached again, this time bringing a small stack of books. He sat beside Stella without saying a word, respecting her silence and time. For a few minutes, he just flipped through one of the books while Stella kept her face closed, immersed in her own pages. After some time, Stella finally found the courage to ask in a quiet and insecure voice what an adjective was. Smiling, Heitor took one of the books from the stack – an illustrated work on birds – and began explaining the concept calmly, pointing to the images and describing the birds with words that exemplified adjectives.
Over the following weeks, Stella and Heitor’s meetings became more frequent. Gradually, she began to trust him, feeling more comfortable learning what he taught her. A month later, thanks to these moments, Stella managed to finish her first book in her life. Heitor, filled with pride, congratulated her warmly, gifting her the very copy as a symbol of her achievement and overcoming. The next day, even happier, she went back to the bookstore, sharing that Malu had given her a kiss on the forehead for her effort in reading the book she had recommended. As she happily recounted this event, Heitor listened attentively, sharing in her joy.
Stella still didn’t understand how Heitor had managed to teach her so well with just images and simple explanations what she hadn’t been able to learn at school over the years. Because of that, gathering all her courage, Stella decided to make a request. Though unsure of the answer, she asked if Heitor could help her with other subjects she struggled with. To her surprise and relief, he readily agreed, seeming genuinely happy with her company and excited about the opportunity to help her learn even more.
From then on, they began studying together. Heitor, always creative, used methods that went beyond books: he took Stella to museums, planetariums, and even gave her toy skeletons to assemble, connecting lessons with movies she enjoyed watching.
Two years passed, and Stella’s transformation was evident. The girl who could barely read now stood out as one of the top 10 students in her class, with grades reflecting all her effort and dedication. Furthermore, she participated in a science fair and surprised everyone by taking second place, receiving as a prize a silver medal and a stuffed macaw. However, for Stella, the prize held a much deeper meaning, as the colorful toy would be her special way of thanking Heitor for all the support, patience, and encouragement that had changed her life.
When she went to the bookstore to share her victory, Stella bumped into two men in uniform rushing out, slamming the door behind them. Upon entering, she found Heitor crouching, picking up some books scattered on the floor. Without hesitation, Stella knelt to help him, taking the moment to enthusiastically share her achievement and then gave him the stuffed macaw as a special thank-you gift. Heitor smiled, moved, and placed the toy proudly on the counter for everyone who entered to see. However, it was then that Stella noticed something strange: a small cut, bleeding, at the base of Heitor's neck. Worried, she tried to ask what had happened, but he deflected the topic, focusing only on her joy and achievement.
Time passed, and Stella was determined to enter a physics college when she finished high school, spending many of her afternoons at the bookstore and asking for Heitor’s help whenever needed. It was during this period that she awakened her Behavior Ajudantes de Argila. One day, while in the bookstore, Stella casually asked Heitor to grab a cup of coffee for her. However, before he could move, a small clay golem suddenly appeared, and with clumsy movements, grabbed a cup from the counter. Determined to complete the task, the creature started to move, but soon began stretching its neck disproportionately, turning into what seemed like an improvised catapult. In a disastrous moment, the cup was thrown out the window with force, breaking the glass and leaving both Stella and Heitor completely stunned and silent, until they both started laughing together.
Near the end of high school, Heitor shared with Stella a promise she would keep forever. During a conversation, he expressed how eager he was to hear about the experiences she would have at university, praising how intelligent and special she was. He then promised that, one day, they would sit together in an even bigger library than his, a welcoming space open to everyone, where anyone could come in and enjoy the pleasure of books. This was Heitor's greatest dream. With her eyes shining with emotion, Stella promised that she too would dedicate herself to help make that dream come true.
A few weeks later, the long-awaited day of the admission exam arrived. Stella was anxious but deeply motivated by Heitor’s words. When the results were finally released, she discovered that she had been accepted into the university she so wanted. Without wasting time and filled with joy, she ran as fast as she could to the bookstore to share the big news with her friend.
However, to her astonishment, when she arrived, she found the place engulfed in flames, the fire consuming everything around her. Devastated, she began to cry deeply as an endless wave of anxiety and worry took over her body. But, amid the despair, she noticed that the stuffed macaw, the one she had given Heitor as a thank-you gift, was no longer on the counter. As she realized the gesture, a smile, though sad, appeared through her tears, and she whispered words of gratitude, promising that one day they would reunite.
Determined to follow her dream, Stella moved to a new city and began her physics course. One day, after classes, while walking through the university corridors carrying a box full of notebooks and parts, she bumped into someone, causing all the items to fall to the ground. The person, immediately apologizing, bent down to help her pick up the scattered materials. It was at that moment that Stella met Sophia Luxivelle, marking the beginning of a new friendship.
Stella has long, straight black hair with a straight fringe that covers part of her forehead. She wears a white lab coat and underneath, a gray turtleneck blouse and a lilac skirt with details at the waist. She also wears black knee-high socks with decorative details and dark shoes.
Her introverted nature leads her to value moments alone and seek learning in a personalized way. Stella has developed her own study methods, allowing her to understand the world at her own pace and in a personal manner.
She is widely recognized for her sweetness and gentleness, characteristics that make her a charming and pleasant presence. However, when focused on her studies or activities, she tends to get easily distracted by her surroundings, which can cause her to lose track of time and her environment.
A notable aspect of her personality is the deep love and appreciation she feels for her golems. Stella highly values the sacrifice and effort they put into fulfilling their tasks.
