When San Diego County built a new fire station, they offered the old building to Boulevard for use as a community resource center. For the first time, our rural community would have a dedicated space to gather, learn, and grow together.
A few community members took the lead in working with the County to make this vision a reality. The Jacumba-Boulevard Revitalization Alliance (JBRA), a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit, now owns and operates the Boulevard Resource Center.
Without additional county funding, all building improvements, materials, and labor must come from our community. This is truly a grassroots effort, powered by volunteers and local support.
