In conclusion to a year where you have explored diverse architectural themes and engaged with a multitude of design challenges, quarter four sets the stage for another crucial part of any architectural project – thorough technical design development. Specifically, this studio will provide an opportunity to take stock of the work undertaken in the previous quarter, consider significant trends or themes in this project, and explore the making, process and documentation of this project further through the lens of appropriate building technology. As a design approach, this studio will focus on reflective practice (Argyris & Schon, 1974), multiple forms of making and testing , and critical iterative design processes towards developing a comprehensive and multi-valent architectural project. The final outcome will be the rich technical design resolution that reflects the nuances of the project intention, the conceptual technological development and the relevant project informants.
