If you want a minimalist, friction-free cover for a 1.25-inch receiver that stays put without tools, choose BougeRV 1; if you need a bold statement piece with a POW MIA design for a 2-inch receiver that offers robust protection against the elements, choose Beabes POW MIA Flag.
• BougeRV 1: Its biggest strength is the permanent mounting bracket that prevents loss and its seamless rubber construction, but it is strictly limited to 1.25-inch receivers. This pick is for the driver who values utility and organization over decoration.
• Beabes POW MIA Flag: Its standout feature is the patriotic graphic design and its fit for larger 2-inch standard receivers, yet it lacks a dedicated storage bracket. This pick is for the tow vehicle owner who wants their rear end to speak volumes while keeping rust away.
The BougeRV 1 is designed for the practical user who views a hitch cover as a functional tool rather than a fashion accessory. Its primary advantage lies in its intelligent design regarding storage. Unlike many competitors that require you to shove the cover into your glove box or leave it on the ground when you remove it to tow, this unit features a permanently mounted bracket. You slide the black rubber cover onto this bracket right over the receiver tube when not in use. This simple mechanism ensures the part never goes missing, a common frustration for anyone who has ever lost a small plastic plug after a long weekend trip.
Constructed from quality black rubber, this cover prioritizes longevity and flexibility. The material is engineered to maintain its sealing performance over time, resisting the cracking that often plagues cheaper plastics exposed to sun and cold. It fits any 1.25-inch by 1.25-inch receiver tube with a friction fit, meaning you can install or remove it without needing a hitch pin or clip. For those of you who frequently swap between towing and daily driving, this friction-based installation is incredibly fast. You simply push it in to seal the tube and pull it out when you are ready to hook up a trailer.
This product is ideal for the compact car owner, the sedan driver, or anyone using a lighter-duty truck where the 1.25-inch receiver is standard. If your priority is keeping rain, dust, and debris out of your hitch tube without adding visual clutter to the rear of your vehicle, this is the solution. However, if you drive a heavy-duty pickup with a 2-inch receiver, this item will not work for you. It is also a poor choice if you desire a specific color or graphic design, as the unit comes only in a solid black finish. It is purely utilitarian, focusing entirely on protecting your investment without distraction.

The Beabes POW MIA Flag serves a dual purpose: it acts as a protective barrier for your hitch receiver while simultaneously serving as a tribute. Designed specifically for the 2-inch by 2-inch trailer receiver tube, this cover accommodates the vast majority of trucks, SUVs, RVs, and pickups on the road. The dimensions of 3.15 inches by 3.15 inches ensure a snug fit that feels substantial once inserted. It is built from durable black rubber that resists deformation, ensuring the cover does not fall off easily during highway driving or bumpy backroad travel. The material is thick enough to prevent water, snow, ice, and even small animals from entering the tube, which is crucial for preventing costly rust damage inside the receiver.
What truly sets this product apart is the visual impact. While many covers are plain black or silver, this one displays the iconic POW MIA flag design. For many owners, the rear of their vehicle is the first thing people see, and this cover adds a layer of elegance and meaning to the towing setup. It transforms a mundane safety accessory into a conversation starter and a symbol of remembrance. The installation process is straightforward and requires no tools; you simply push the cover into the receiver tube to secure it. This ease of use means you can swap it in and out quickly if you need to access the receiver for a lock or a different attachment, though you must be careful to store the cover safely since there is no attached bracket.
This product is perfect for the truck enthusiast, the hunter, or the family traveler who owns a larger vehicle with a 2-inch hitch. If you are looking to add a touch of personality to your rig while ensuring your equipment remains dry and rust-free, this is the clear winner. It is less suitable for drivers with smaller vehicles equipped with 1.25-inch hitches, as the physical dimensions simply will not allow it to fit. Furthermore, if you are someone who loses items easily and prefers a system where the cover is always tethered to the vehicle, the lack of an integrated storage bracket might be a minor inconvenience compared to the BougeRV option.
• Best for Storage and Organization → BougeRV 1, because it includes a permanent bracket to hold the cover when removed.
• Best for Visual Impact and Patriotism → Beabes POW MIA Flag, featuring a distinct flag design that stands out on the rear of the vehicle.
• Best for Smaller Receivers (1.25") → BougeRV 1, as it is specifically sized for 1.25-inch tubes.
• Best for Standard Heavy-Duty Trucks (2") → Beabes POW MIA Flag, built to fit the universal 2x2 inch receiver standard.
• Best for Rust Prevention → Both are excellent, but Beabes offers a slightly larger surface area for sealing on bigger tubes.
• Best for Tool-Free Installation → Both utilize a friction fit that requires no pins or clips, making either a quick job.
• Best for Durability Over Time → Both use high-quality rubber, but BougeRV emphasizes flexibility retention while Beabes highlights resistance to deformation.
• Best for Towing Versatility → BougeRV 1 for frequent swaps on smaller rigs; Beabes for permanent installation on large haulers.
I would personally buy the Beabes POW MIA Flag for my own vehicle, provided I have a 2-inch receiver. The combination of genuine protection against the elements and the ability to display a meaningful symbol makes it a more complete package for most North American truck and SUV owners. While the BougeRV 1 is undeniably clever with its storage bracket, the sheer ubiquity of 2-inch hitches and the desire to personalize a tow vehicle tip the scales in favor of the Beabes design. If you are towing regularly and want your vehicle to look sharp while staying protected, this is the choice I recommend.
No, the Beabes POW MIA Flag is strictly designed for 2-inch by 2-inch trailer receiver tubes and will not fit a smaller 1.25-inch opening.
The BougeRV 1 includes a permanent bracket that mounts over the receiver tube, allowing you to rest the cover on the bracket when you are not towing so it never falls off or gets misplaced.
Both products are constructed from quality black rubber intended to maintain flexibility and resist deformation, suggesting they are built to withstand typical weather conditions including snow and ice.
Yes, both the BougeRV 1 and the Beabes POW MIA Flag feature a friction fit design that allows for quick installation and removal without the need for any tools or hitch pins.
