WonderMud offers an experience where children can slow down, embrace their natural sense of curiosity and wonder while forming meaningful relationships and deepening their understanding of and connection to nature...
A collaboration between Jessica Adams (Nature Nerding) and Meagan Patch (Patch Farm), we piloted three weeks of WonderMud last summer (with the support of the PENS) and the response was very positive!
Since the winter of 2020 we have both been dreaming of collaborating to create an experience like WonderMud...
About Meagan
As a sixth generation farmer, the notion that agriculture anchors us not only to place and community, but to nature herself, is deeply ingrained and has followed me everywhere I go.
About Jess
With a background in wildlife biology and environmental education, I am a true Nature Nerd in every sense of the word. My greatest joy comes from sharing the wonders of the natural world with others... A walk in the woods with me is never just a walk in the woods.

No two days will be the same as we will adapt according to the weather, the group dynamics and spontaneous opportunities that arise, but every day will include:
Farm Life - Learning about animal behaviours and needs, experimenting with growing things, learning about seasonal cycles and how they influence our food.
Nature - Exploration and discovery, observing, building, playing and learning to appreciate and respect the natural environments we visit, citizen science projects.
Time - Building, self-directed exploring, creating... we leave enough time and space to let imagination and creativity thrive.
A unique environment designed with intention...
In a time where daily life is often over-scheduled and organized down to the finest detail, we aim to provide some time and space for some of the things we consider “childhood essentials”...
Age-mixing
Free play
Risky play
Bilingualism
Time outside in all kinds of weather!
