In this work, we designed a multi-functional oscilloscope based on a micro control unit (MCU). This portable device pre-samples incoming signals and uses program control to amplify weak signals. Thus, the oscilloscope has a much lower minimum limit of amplitude detection (~10mV) than that of commercial ones (~100mV), with a considerably lower cost. Moreover, by quantifying the sampling interval of analog to digital converter (ADC), we are able to measure signal with a large frequency range from 1Hz to 40kHz.
