The Boston chapter of Food Not Bombs serves a free and healthy vegan meal every week. Run solely by volunteers, at Food Not Bombs you'll find no bosses or leaders. We serve weekly year-round, rain or shine. We also sometimes serve at special events and protests. Everyone is encouraged to come eat, work with us, and share ideas. All are welcome at our table.
On Saturdays from mornings, we cook out of a house in Cambridge. We then transport food to James Cronin Park in Central Square where we serve the meal from 1 pm until food runs out (usually 3 pm). After we run out of food, we bring supplies back to the cook site and clean. You do not need to RSVP to serve - you are welcome to just show up at the park.
Any changes to this schedule will be posted to our Instagram page, but we're usually out in the park every Saturday, rain or shine, holiday or not.
Please wear a mask if you are planning to serve food. We ask that you do not come serve food if you are sick or have been exposed to COVID-19 in the last 2 weeks.
Our serving location is outdoors in James Cronin Park. The plaza is wheelchair accessible and has bench space for sitting. Serving activities include setting up tables, serving food, answering questions about Food Not Bombs, and purchasing any last-minute supplies with our funds (e.g., silverware, plates, or salt). During the fall and winter months, we suggest that you dress as warmly as possible to serve with us.
On Sundays at 1 pm, Food Not Bombs Roxbury serves at Dudley Square Plaza, located right near 2 Blue Hill Avenue in Roxbury. The meal is cooked at a house in Roxbury on Sunday mornings. If you're interested in serving, you are welcome to just show up to the park! Please e-mail roxburyfnbboston@proton.me or DM @roxburyfoodnotbombs on Instagram if you are interested in cooking or have any questions.
