FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What got you into making video gaming content?I've always enjoyed playing video games and becoming a YouTuber has always seemed fun to me. Getting to make money from it is just an additional perk.
Do you have an upload schedule for new videos? Not at the moment, but usually I'll make updates on the progress of new videos as I'm working on them.
Do you have a stream schedule?Technically no. If I'm planning to livestream, I'll usually post updates on when they will be just like new videos.
When did you first start playing Minecraft?2012, just before version 1.2 released.
What shaders do you use for Minecraft?Right now I'm using Complementary Reminagined. You can download it on Curseforge.
What Texture/Resource pack do you use for Minecraft?Default Dark Mode or Darkmode. Both can be found on Curseforge.
Do you prefer Fabric or Forge?Fabric, but Forge is still the OG.
Where do you go to download your Minecraft mods? Both of these sites are great, I do prefer Curseforge though.https://www.curseforge.com/Â https://modrinth.com/
How did you get into playing Minecraft?A highschool friend showed it to me. Also watching survival series from other YouTube creators such as UberHaxorNova, CaptainSparklez, and Tobuscus.
Why is your name Bosswave? In 2014 while I was trying to come up with a channel name, there was a popular dubstep song named "Boss Wave" and it just stuck to me.
How come you have other videos besides Minecraft mod videos on your channel? My YouTube channel is pretty old and has gone through several phases. When I first started YouTube in 2014, I mostly did news and guide videos for the Borderlands game series. But as time went by, I lost my inspiration for making content for that franchise. By 2017 I wasn't uploading videos hardly at all and if I did, they weren't for Borderlands. I had all but officially retired from making YouTube content at the time.
When did you start livestreaming? In 2020, I lost my job due to the COVID pandemic and wanted have a place to connect with my friends and make new ones since we were all under lockdown. So I started streaming Minecraft as well as many other games and it wasn't too long after that I received the email that I was able to become a Twitch Affiliate.Â
What made you come back to YouTube?2 reasons actually: First reason was that my contract with the YouTube Partner Program had been recently terminated due to inactivity. Second reason was that my excitement for Twitch streaming was fading around the same time I was becoming more and more interested in Minecraft modding again.
Do you ever want to become a full time content creator? It would be awesome to get the chance to do it, but I honestly don't see it happening given the amount of free time I'm limited to right now.
