On 19 February 2026, students from Borovje Primary School took part in an online meeting with their peers from the Italian school Istituto Comprensivo Lizzadri–Roncalli in Gragnano as part of the Erasmus+ project. The meeting took place in a friendly and motivating atmosphere and marked the beginning of cooperation between the two groups of students.
At the start of the meeting, students introduced themselves and gave short presentations about their schools, cities and everyday school life. The students from Borovje Primary School presented the city of Zagreb, highlighting its cultural and historical heritage as well as various activities taking place at their school. The Italian students, in turn, introduced their Croatian peers to the town of Gragnano, its distinctive characteristics and their school environment.
During the meeting, the students also discussed the topics they will be exploring together within the project. Particular attention was given to sustainable development and the importance of protecting the environment. Students shared ideas on reducing waste, recycling and adopting everyday habits that contribute to environmental protection.
In addition to environmental topics, the students talked about the importance of cooperation, teamwork and young people’s mental health. The exchange of ideas showed that these issues are important to students in different countries and that international cooperation can help them develop new perspectives and solutions.
This online meeting marked the first step in future collaboration between the two schools. The students were pleased to meet their new partners and are looking forward to further joint activities within the Erasmus+ project, which will allow them to learn from one another, exchange experiences and strengthen their intercultural understanding.
