The island of Kalimantan has one of the arts in traditional dance. Such as Sumazau Dance from Penampang in west coast Sabah, Mandau dance by Dayak people, Mangunatip, Ngajat, Mongigol Sumundai, and more.
Ngajat is deeply rooted in their culture, as it is used in a long tradition of rituals, celebration and war.
The dancers imitate the eagle in flight by stretching their arms to both sides and swing them up and down like bird wings.
This energetic dance is performed by Murut people, who mainly reside in the interior districts of Sabah, and they are the headhunters of Borneo in the past.
