Saturday, October 16 @ Mountain View - District Play-in Game
The Varsity Lions competed for a chance to play in the District tournament today. They faced Boise High School at Mountain View High School at 11:00 a.m. They started the game off strong, but they eventually fell behind, falling short all three sets to lose their chance at competing at Districts. The scores on the day included: 18-25, 22-25, and 20-25.
This concludes the season for the Borah Lions.
Wednesday, October 13 @ Borah
The sophomore team competed against Skyview tonight and took the game to three sets. Unfortunately, they ended the night with a loss. The scores included: 20-25, 25-20, and 11-15.
The JV team lost to Skyview tonight with the scores 14-25 and 14-25. Middle blocker Madison Biery had four kills, two blocks, and one ace, and outside hitter Halle Fizer had three kills and one dig.
The varsity team also fell to Skyview tonight. The scores were: 14-25, 11-25, and 8-25. Right side Hayley Pyrah had four kills, two assists, and one ace, and outside hitter Keli Kessel had four kills, one ace, and one assist.
This concluded the season for both the sophomore and JV teams. The Varsity team will have a District play-in game on Saturday, October 16. They will play Boise High School at 11:00 a.m. at Mountain View High School.
Tuesday, October 12 @ Borah
The sophomore team fought hard and took the Centennial Patriots to three sets, but they walked off the court with a loss. The scores were: 22-25, 25-23, and 7-15.
The JV team showed the Patriots what they're made of and took a two-set victory on the night. The scores were: 25-12 and 25-22. Altogether, the team had 13 kills, 14 aces, and two blocks. Setter Avery Stoddard had six aces, middle blocker Maddie Biery had five kills and one block, and outside hitter Taylor Darrow had three aces and two kills.
The varsity team fell to the Patriots in three sets. The scores included: 9-25, 8-25, and 21-25. Outside hitter Keli Kessel had five kills; Tiana Borkovic had five kills, two digs, and one block; and Brenna Magnuson had 12 assists.
The team's next and final conference game is Wednesday, October 13 at home. They face Skyview at 4:30 p.m. (Sophomore), 5:30 p.m. (JV), and 6:30 p.m. (Varsity). This is Borah's Senior Night, so come out and support the Seniors!
Required Sport Physicals for Incoming Freshman and Junior Athletes
Incoming Freshman and Juniors are required to get a physical examination prior to participating in tryouts on August 9th. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, we will NOT be hosting a "physical exam day," this year; however the Idaho Sports Medicine Institute will be offering High School Sports Physicals for just $30 by appointment! Attached is a "Coupon" with information about the opportunity as well as suggested locations of where you can get a relatively inexpensive Physical exam.

*Please note: Athlete's can get a physical at any family medicine provider; however we want to encourage utilizing the Idaho Sports Medicine Institute because they will donate the cost of the physical back into the Borah Sports Medicine Program!
