In the dataset (Table 1), each column is annotated with its corresponding source, which refers to a peer-reviewed publication. The table also includes the geographic coordinates of each study site, covering data collected from approximately 14 countries around the world. In addition, key background information such as mean annual temperature, annual precipitation, and soil pH is recorded.
To comprehensively evaluate the effects of nitrification inhibitors (NIs), the dataset also documents the type, application rate, and duration of NI use in each study. These variables allow for a detailed investigation into how NI application influences soil mineral nitrogen dynamics, crop yield, nitrogen use efficiency (NUE), as well as associated emissions of nitrous oxide (N₂O) and ammonia (NH₃).
