Want to find out today's sale?
Want to get out of the house and use up some of that free time you have? We would love to have you! Volunteering with us is easy; if you love being around books and book lovers, keep reading.
Those who want to become volunteers must be older than fifteen and know how to follow directions given to them by our staff.
The tasks we assign range from:
pricing books
putting away books
being creative and crafty and making our wrapped Blind Date books (books that are wrapped in paper and decorated by drawings, stickers, or phrases) or putting together displays
organizing our shelves
routine cleaning (dusting, wiping surfaces, sometimes taking out the garbage, etc.)
cutting or shredding paper
assisting our employees when donations come in
There are other duties that may arise, but these things are usually what our staff has volunteers do. We have coffee and tea. For food, we sometimes have snacks but during the week days the Pizza Gallery is open.
Volunteers will receive regular store credit (15-17 year olds will get $7/hr, adults will get $8/hr) meaning the credit you accrue will not be able to be used on our collectible or specialty books. If you are volunteering for community service hours, you will not receive store credit.
Have you read everything above and want to come in? All you have to do is contact us and tell us what day(s) you want to come in. No paperwork or checks needed! Come in for an hour or however long you're able to, we appreciate any amount of time you spend here.
