One of my favorite novels was Ann Of Green Gables. It was an uplifting classic about a young girl who goes through many struggles growing up on Prince Edward Island. Ann is raised by Aunt Marilla and Matthew when they take her from the orphanage. Ann is a very different child because she has the wildest imagination. She would get in trouble all the time because whenever she was doing something, she would stop thinking about it and start imagining and so whatever she had started would be forgotten.
It all started when Marrila and Matthew decided that Matthew needed help on the farm. So, they decided that getting an orphan to help out would be a good idea. When Matthew went to pick up the orphan, he found out it was a girl and thought they would return her in the morning because they had wanted a boy to do farm work.
Once they brought her home, they realized that she was a very inspirational little girl, and they didn't really want to bring her back. Ann struggles to become a better person as time passes, and eventually she is a very proper young woman, though at the beginning it seemed as if she would never make it. At the beginning, Ann made many mistakes and got into trouble regularly. It is a great challenge for Marrila to try to raise Ann.
Ann becomes a better person because she never gives up and always looks on the bright side. When Ann achieves something, she only becomes more and more determined. Everything about Ann makes you the reader feel like you could change for the better and do anything you want to, just like Ann. Her positive attitude and her determination really inspired me as I read this book. The book is great for people of all reading abilities. Ann of Green Gables is definitely worth reading because of how good it makes you feel inside, I would highly recommend Ann of Green Gables to anyone who likes an uplifting story.
