CYD Studio (the “Operator”) values the privacy of Booknautica users. This Privacy Policy explains what information is processed by the Booknautica app, which external services are used, and how users can manage their information.
1. Registration and Direct Collection
Booknautica does not require account registration. The Operator does not ask users to enter directly identifying information, such as their name, email address, phone number, or precise location, through the app, or store such information on its own servers.
2. Information Stored on Your Device
Book information, reading records (pages read, reading time, notes, quotes, ratings, and reviews), reading goals, archive status, app settings, saved book covers, achievements and voyage collection records, and generated reports are generally stored locally on your device. This reading data is not sent to the Operator’s servers.
3. Book Search and External Content
When you search for a book or look up an ISBN, your search query or ISBN may be sent through a search proxy server built on Cloudflare Workers to the Kakao Book Search API, Google Books API, and, when needed, the National Library of Korea’s bibliographic information API. The proxy server may temporarily use your IP address to protect the service and prevent excessive requests. Book cover images may be downloaded from external book information providers’ servers, and those services may process your IP address and request information.
4. Advertising
Booknautica offers Google AdMob rewarded ads in some features. The Google Mobile Ads SDK and Google User Messaging Platform may process IP addresses, approximate location, app and ad interactions, diagnostic information, and device or account identifiers such as advertising IDs for ad delivery, consent management, performance measurement, and fraud prevention. In applicable regions, a consent screen may appear before ads are requested. You can manage your choices through the app’s Ad privacy choices screen or your device settings.
5. Purchases and Subscriptions
Google Play or the Apple App Store processes in-app purchases and subscription payments. The Operator does not directly collect credit card numbers or payment method information. To verify and restore purchase entitlements, RevenueCat may process a randomly generated anonymous app user ID, product identifiers, and transaction and subscription status. Booknautica does not use RevenueCat’s automatic device identifier collection feature.
6. Camera and Notifications
Camera permission is used only to scan ISBN barcodes on your device. Camera images are not sent to or stored on the Operator’s servers. Notification permission is used to provide reading reminders, return reminders, and goal reminders that you configure on your device.
7. Backup, Export, and Sharing
When you initiate a backup, CSV export, PDF report, or sharing action, reading data may be sent to the file storage location or app you select. The Operator does not collect or retain files sent to your chosen storage location or sharing destination. You are responsible for managing and deleting files that you save or share separately at those locations.
8. Retention and Deletion
Data stored locally on your device is retained until you delete it or uninstall the app. You can use Settings > Delete all data in the app to delete books, reading records, goals, voyage collection records, and saved files from your device. Retention periods and deletion procedures for information processed by external services are governed by each service’s privacy policy and legal obligations.

10. Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated when features or external services change. Significant changes will be communicated by updating the effective date on this page or through the app or store listing.
