Course outline]
In the early winter of late November, we will review the earth to conclude the year.
In order to create an environment where the air and water of the earth do not stagnate and you can breathe firmly, we will maintain the water veins in the precincts and prepare for the winter when the earth falls asleep.
The mechanism is the same for both the earth and people, and by breathing firmly and sleeping, your physical condition will recover.
Environmental improvement during the winter is very effective and will be a source of energy from the next spring when the earth awakens.
In this course, you will learn how to face and work on the earth in this season toward midwinter.
"Outline of the course from the last time"
June 29, 2020 was the first time that Tokeiji was allowed to enter the environmental improvement work for the restoration of the earth.
Over the past year or so, we have held a total of seven earth regeneration courses.
In the past year or two, I have been involved in the construction of several projects in Kamakura City, such as along the Nameri River in Higashikamakura and near Yuigahama, in addition to Tokeiji Temple in Kita Kamakura.
No matter where I looked, I couldn't deny the fact that the natural environment was exhausted, such as the stagnation of water veins and the decline of the trees, but even Namerikawa, which is surrounded by concrete and looks like a sewage river, is still there. It is inhabited by Japanese mitten crabs and rivers. The environment is exhausted because it is covered with concrete and asphalt on the surface, but it was the view of Tomonori Yano, a school of forests through the site of Kamakura, that the deep water veins are still breathing.
Taking advantage of the unique terrain of Kamakura, which is surrounded by mountains on three sides and the sea in the south, many temples are located at the corner of the terrain and water veins starting from Tsurugaoka Hachimangu, which is preserved as a guardian forest. By doing so, the good old landscape of Kamakura may have been preserved for a long time.
However, the development of large-scale residential land development and road network development due to urbanization in recent decades has stagnated the rich water veins of Kamakura, and the surrounding natural environment has been exhausted at once, causing sediment-related disasters and fallen trees in various places. Withered oak wilt, the deterioration of the environment is getting worse year by year.
In these days when natural disasters occur frequently nationwide, there is nothing to do with the occurrence of guerrilla rainstorms, heat island phenomena and sediment-related disasters, and many people face this big challenge that shakes people's livelihoods and the reality of environmental deterioration is immediate. You should know and take steps to regenerate.
Meanwhile, after the environmental improvement work for the restoration of the earth at Tokeiji Temple from last year, the tree vigor is recovering, and the damaged vegetation and the collapsed slopes are beginning to calm down.
The significance of preserving this Kamakura-like environment that spreads out in the hills of Kita-Kamakura and Yado is very significant. From a large perspective, it can be said to have an impact on the Sagami River basin, which flows from the northern foot of Mt. Fuji to Sagami Bay.
This course is not positioned as a regular maintenance course, but is not a regular maintenance course, but local residents from the upstream to the downstream of the Kashio River (Sakai River) that flows near Tokeiji Temple, or people in the entire basin related to Sagami Bay, such as the Sagami River and Sagami River basins. I would like to carry out improvement work as a "basin participation type" with this as the axis.
In addition, the current situation of the collapse of the natural ecosystem in recent years, which can be said to be an emergency, welcomes participation from other regions like the former "Iza Kamakura", and by bringing back the method of regenerating the earth to the local area, each I think it will lead to environmental conservation activities in the region.
By regenerating and maintaining the former environment as "Tokeiji Sagami Bay Basin Yui no Mori-zukuri", the cooperation of "Yui", a new basin unit that involves such various people, from the precincts of Tokeiji to the surrounding area I would like to review the significance of the guardian forest once again and use it as a foothold for the natural restoration of Kamakura and make it an activity that will lead to the next generation. It was
