Book Light ("we", "our", "us") is a local-first reading journal and book tracker. This policy explains what stays on your device, what leaves it when you look up a book, and the terms for optional in-app purchases.
Data stored on your device
Book titles, authors, quotes (Book Lines), covers, library due dates, settings, and Light Pool selections are stored on your device. Local library data is encrypted at rest. We do not run an account server or cloud backup.
ISBN and book lookup
When you search by ISBN or book title, Book Light uses Google Books and Open Library to fill book details such as title, author, translator, publisher, and page count, and to download a cover image when one is available. Cover images are stored only on this device. Those services receive the search query and your IP address under their own policies. Quotes, covers you already stored, and your library list are not uploaded.
ISBN and book-title lookup is optional; you can type book details and add a cover yourself in case of any safety concern.
Camera and photos
The camera is used to photograph book covers and book pages for on-device OCR, and to scan ISBN barcodes for book lookup. Gallery import uses the system photo picker so you choose specific images. OCR runs on the device; those images are not uploaded.
On Android, the first OCR run may download an on-device text-recognition model from Google.
Notifications and widgets
Library-return reminders, if you enable them on your device and Book Light, are scheduled on the device. Light Pool can show shuffling saved quotes on the Home Screen and, where you allow it, the Lock Screen. Anyone who can see the device may see those quotes.
On Android, exact reminder timing may also need the Alarms & reminders permission; reminders are rescheduled after reboot. Lock-screen widgets depend on the device maker.
In-app purchases
Book Light is free to use. You may optionally support the app with “Buy me a coffee” tips from Settings. This is a one-time consumable in-app purchase: it is not a subscription, does not auto-renew, is one payment per purchase, may be purchased again, and cannot be restored to another device. It does not unlock extra features, remove ads (there are none), or change how your library is stored. The tips are for supporting the individual app developer and app maintenance.
On iOS, payment is processed by Apple through In-App Purchase and charged to the Apple ID on the device. Book Light does not receive your Apple ID password, payment card, or billing address. If you need a refund, request it from Apple (for example via reportaproblem.apple.com). Purchases are also subject to Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement and Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
On Android, payment is processed by Google Play Billing and charged to the Google account on the device. Book Light does not receive your Google account password, payment card, or billing address. If you need a refund, request it from Google Play (for example via pay.google.com or Play purchase history). Purchases are also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service.
The price is shown on the store’s purchase sheet before you confirm. Book Light cannot issue or reverse store charges.
Export and share
If you export or share, the file or image you create is not encrypted and goes to the app or person you choose. Please use with caution.
No tracking
Book Light does not include advertising, analytics, or tracking SDKs. We do not sell your information.
Children
Book Light is not directed at children under 13.

Book Light（「我們」）乃以本機為主的閱讀筆記應用程式。本政策旨在說明哪些資料僅保存在閣下的裝置、查詢書籍時將會傳送哪些資料，以及自選應用程式內購買的相關條款。
儲存在本機的資料
書名、作者、書摘、封面、圖書館到期日、設定以及流光池內容，均儲存在閣下的裝置。本機書庫資料會加密存放。本開發者並無帳號伺服器，亦不提供雲端備份。
ISBN 與書籍查詢
當閣下以 ISBN 或書名搜尋時，Book Light 會使用 Google Books 與 Open Library 填入書名、作者、譯者、出版社、頁數，並在有封面時下載封面。封面圖片僅儲存在本機。該等服務將依其各自政策收取搜尋內容與閣下的 IP 位址。本機的書摘、閣下已儲存的封面與書庫清單均不會被傳送。
ISBN 與書名搜尋屬選擇性功能。如閣下有任何安全考慮，亦可自行輸入書籍資料與封面，而不使用此查詢功能。
相機與相片
相機僅會用作拍攝書籍封面與書頁，以便在裝置上進行 OCR，以及掃描 ISBN 條碼以進行書籍資料搜尋。從相簿匯入時，將使用系統相片選擇器，由閣下選取指定圖片。OCR 在本機執行，所有相關圖片均不會上傳。
於 Android，首次進行 OCR 時，或會由 Google 下載本機文字辨識模型。
通知與小工具
若閣下開啟圖書館到期提醒，並於系統開啟 Book Light 的通知權限，通知排程將在本機進行。此外，流光池可在主畫面隨機顯示已儲存的書摘，並定時轉換；若閣下於 Book Light 設定頁允許，書摘亦可顯示於鎖定畫面。敬請注意，能看到本裝置的人士或可閱覽該書摘內容，懇請謹慎使用鎖定畫面小工具。
於 Android，準時提醒或須另准許「鬧鐘與提醒」權限；重新開機後，提醒會再次排程。鎖定畫面小工具視裝置廠商而定。
應用程式內購買
Book Light 可免費使用。閣下亦可選擇於設定頁點擊「請我食燒賣」，以金錢支持 Book Light。此為一次性消耗性應用程式內購買：非訂閱制、無自動續訂、一買一付款、可重複購買，亦不能還原至其他裝置；打賞不會解鎖額外功能、移除廣告（本應用程式並無廣告），亦不會改變書庫的儲存方式。打賞純為支持 Book Light 獨立開發者及應用程式的維護。
於 iOS，付款由 Apple 經應用程式內購買處理，並向該裝置的 Apple ID 收費。Book Light 不會收集閣下的 Apple ID 密碼、信用卡資料或帳單地址。如需退款，敬請向 Apple 申請（例如 reportaproblem.apple.com）。購買同時受 Apple 的授權應用程式最終用戶許可協議及 Apple 媒體服務條款約束。

Book Light 不含廣告、分析或追蹤 SDK。本應用程式開發者不會出售閣下的資料。
兒童
Book Light 並非以 13 歲以下兒童為對象。
