Welcome to The Reading Nook!
We’re so glad you’re here.
Our club thrives on respectful, open, and thoughtful conversation. To keep this a safe and enjoyable space for all members, we ask that everyone follow these simple guidelines.
We come from different backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. That’s what makes our discussions rich! Please:
Listen without interrupting.
Respect differing opinions even when you disagree.
Avoid sarcasm or condescending language.
This is a diverse, inclusive space where everyone should feel welcome. We do not tolerate:
Racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, or any form of discrimination.
Hate speech, personal attacks, or harassment of any kind.
Dismissive behavior toward someone’s lived experience.
Please be mindful about spoilers. If you’re referencing a plot point that hasn’t been discussed yet, give a clear spoiler warning.
We’re here to talk about books, ideas, and themes. It’s fine to go off on related tangents, but let’s avoid:
Overly personal or off-topic rants
Self-promotion or advertising
Dominating the conversation
To make sure everyone gets a chance to speak:
Keep comments concise during group meetings.
Use hand-raising features or take turns (if virtual).
If you’re joining late, please mute on entry.
If you ever feel uncomfortable, witness inappropriate behavior, or have an issue, please let us know privately. Contact: moderator@readingnookclub.com
All concerns are handled confidentially and taken seriously.
We all make mistakes. If someone gives you feedback, receive it with openness. Likewise, give others the benefit of the doubt.
In rare cases where guidelines are ignored or violated repeatedly, moderators may remove members to preserve the community’s integrity.
By being kind, curious, and respectful, you help create the kind of community we all want to be a part of. Thanks for being here — and happy reading!
