Bonny Moffatt:
Traveller and Storyteller
Traveller and Storyteller
Hailing from Eastern Dumfriesshire, Bonny excels in the art of the removal of coin from others and tall tales. Her trademark black lip prints often precede her appearance in any place whereupon a profit (or a willing ear) may be found.
With a love of storytelling and an intent to inspire curiosity, “Black Lips” Bonny Moffatt shares tales from her travels as a "facilitator" (which is entirely NOT a code word for highwayman or other type of scoundrel). From the mythologies of Greece to the histories of England to fantastical stories of dragons and fae, Bonny aims to find the perfect story for her audience, ensnaring younglings and adults alike.
Performing at Renaissance Festivals since 2003 and on stage as a storyteller since 2017, her stories have held audiences captive in Iowa, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas thus far, in addition to a range of folks across the internet. She was a co-founder of the WWW Renaissance Faire and currently produces for Life's a Faire. Her background in classical mythology combined with training in interactive performing allows her to seamlessly blend into the unique environment and cast of each faire, sowing a bit of fun along with her stories.
Bonny also received 3rd place in the 17th Annual Renaissance Festival Awards for her storytelling and can be found on both her own album, First Fabulae (available at all in-person events or through email inquiry) and as a featured artist on Storytime with Oengus (available at PictusMusic.com). She has also had appearances on the Renaissance Festival Podcast and the Life's a Faire Podcast.
From the most ridiculous mid-performance expression to in-lane fun, they say a picture is worth a thousand words. What's another thousand words to a storyteller, anyways?
