Welcome to Bonnie Wilson's website - a work in progress.
Economics
I worked in higher education for many years as a full-time academic economist. I was an assistant professor at UMBC, 1999-2003; assistant and associate professor at SLU, 2003-2025. I now work as an independent scholar. Most of my research is in the field of public choice and involves thinking about exchange in the spheres of politics and civil society. I hold a PhD in economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Music
I am a pianist and organist. I currently serve as the organist/pianist/choirmaster at St. John's Episcopal Church - Tower Grove. I served as organist/pianist for the traditional worship service at Salem United Methodist Church (mid-county site), 2019-2024. I served as the accompanist for the American Chamber Chorale from 2020 until the Chorale's close in 2025. I hold a BA in fine and performing arts from Saint Louis University, where I studied piano with Mary Mottl and served as an accompanist in the voice studio of Susan McMane. I studied organ with Jule Hostetter.
