I grew up in a Maryland suburb outside of Washington, DC. My journey in education began with a BA in Elementary Education from the University of Massachusetts. After that, I taught second grade in a small private school in Boston. My passion for education led me to Harvard's Graduate School of Education, where I earned my Master's degree with a focus on technology in education.
I then joined a national school reform project in Cambridge and Worcester, MA, where I worked on integrating technology and engaging students through community partnerships. As a school site-director, I collaborated closely with administrators and teachers, providing professional development and supporting the transition to innovative teaching and learning methods.
When I moved to Vermont, I returned to the classroom, teaching a multi-age first and second grade class. My young students created blogs, podcasts, and websites to showcase their learning and expand their audience.
My love for technology in education soon led me to become a Digital Learning Leader, a role I embraced for nine years. During this time, I worked with students and teachers from PreK-8, co-teaching and promoting digital citizenship across the Williston schools.
Recognizing the power of storytelling, I transitioned to the dual role of Director of Digital Learning & Communication for the Champlain Valley School District in 2018. I've had the pleasure of presenting at numerous conferences and workshops, teaching graduate-level and local courses, and working with both kids and adults.
In 2015, I was honored to receive the ISTE Making IT Happen Award, and in 2021, I was presented with Vita-Learn's Frank Watson Award. I completed the Vermont School Leadership Project through the Snelling Center for Government in 2018.
At the end of the 2024 school year, I decided to refocus on my first passion: digital learning. I'm excited to collaborate with school districts and organizations to continue this important work.
