Chapter 1

Boneyard and Magdalena attend a meeting with the alphas to discuss Loki's status and whereabouts. Boneyard callously asserts that the god couldn't simply have died, inattentive to Freyja's feelings on the matter. Magdalena winces at the social faux pas.

Later, Boneyard questions whether Loki has some portal to other realms buried in Helheim's depths. After the meeting ends, Fenrir asks the cousins to investigate the matter further.

Boneyard and Magdalena arrive at Helheim's Gate and wind up guarding the entrance at Saga's request. This leads to them beating up a Loki follower who tries to return to the cave.

Word of Saga's disappearance reaches them, prompting Boneyard and Magdalena to return to Helheim's Gate. Their previous encounter with Saga at the cave leaves them suspicious of whether she might have returned there. The felvargs descend into the void, stumbling upon another realm where Saga awaits them.

Boneyard reluctantly allies herself to the Rebellion, solely because the proposed enemy is Loki. The cousins respond to Saga's request for aid in gathering supplies and find themselves back at the Vale of Whispers collecting white clover.

At Odin's request, Boneyard and Magdalena venture back to Ulfrheim to get some of their companions on the Rebellion's side for the coming battle. They meet Draugr and Brandr on their way through the northern woods and lead them back to Helheim's Gate.

Boneyard and Magdalena assume sentry positions on a hilltop near the rebel camp, watching the supernatural storm brewing in the distance. The pair chatter and speculate about the situation to keep themselves entertained. Loki is using magic to create new soldiers and all the rebel forces can do is wait.

Boneyard spots a figure moving in the distance and pursues them into the nearby woodlands, abandoning her sentry post. Magdalena follows after and the two reconvene before encountering the stranger. The name Hakon seems familiar, unsettingly so... but the sounds of trouble from camp consume the cousins' thoughts before they can puzzle this out.

Boneyard and Magdalena return to the rebel camp as quickly as the unforgiving weather allows. They fight their way through the battlefield in search of their leaders, pausing only in the grips of a supernatural encounter with Hakon that raises more questions.

When the haze is lifted, they press on and arrive in time to witness the final stand-off with Loki and the willingness of his handcrafted soldiers to turn on him.
