Preserving the Work. Recording the Story. Protecting the Legacy.
The Bone Idol Archive is the official record of the artworks created by Ekim.
Each documented creation is assigned a unique archive reference and recorded with its photographs, materials, collection, history and identifying details. The archive preserves not only the finished artworks, but also the craftsmanship, stories and artistic legacy behind them.
Created in White River, South Africa, the archive continues to grow as new works, commissions and historical material are documented.
A handcrafted artwork should never become separated from the story of its creation.
The Bone Idol Archive was established to preserve a reliable record of Ekim work for collectors, future custodians and generations still to come.
Through careful documentation, the archive helps protect:

The materials and techniques used
Its photographic record
Its collection and place within Bone Idol
Its known history and provenance
