Boltz: Strobe Art
Privacy Policy
Effective Date: September 17, 2026
Last Updated: September 17, 2026
This Privacy Policy is posted at:
https://sites.google.com/view/boltzart/home
This policy describes how Logan Voss, under exclusive license to Synesthesia Labs (“we,” “us,” or “our”), handles information in connection with the iOS and iPadOS app Boltz: Strobe Art (bundle identifier com.logan.Boltz) (the “App”).
Boltz: Strobe Art lets you take a photo or select a photo from your library, optionally apply on-device color filters, turn that image into a vertical strobe-art video on your device, and save the finished video back to Photos.
By using the App, you understand the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Who is responsible
Developer: Logan Voss
Publisher / licensee: Synesthesia Labs
App Store seller: Logan Voss
Contact for privacy questions, access requests, consent withdrawal, and U.S. state privacy requests:
Email: loganvoss.work@gmail.com
This policy: https://sites.google.com/view/boltzart/home
Do Not Sell or Share (revocation): email loganvoss.work@gmail.com with the subject line “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information”, or open the Settings gear in the App and tap Privacy Choices. Privacy Choices opens Google AdMob’s Do Not Sell or Share / U.S. state privacy form (Google’s User Messaging Platform).
We do not have a separate in-app account system. You do not create a username, password, or profile with us.
2. Short summary
We do not require you to register with us.
Photos you take or select, any filters you apply, and the video Boltz: Strobe Art creates are processed on your device. We do not upload your photos or videos to our own servers.
The finished video is saved to your Photo Library. Apple, not Synesthesia Labs, stores that library (including iCloud Photos if you use it).
The App shows Google AdMob full-screen interstitial ads during the video-creation loading screen, every time a video is created.
Advertising, measurement, and (where allowed) personalized ads are provided by Google.
In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, we request advertising consent with Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) before personalized ads or non-essential advertising identifiers are used.
In applicable U.S. states, we present Google’s U.S. state privacy message so you can opt out of sale, sharing, and targeted advertising. In the App, that form is opened from Settings → Privacy Choices.
On Apple devices, we request App Tracking Transparency (ATT) permission before accessing the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA).
We do not sell your personal information for money. We do not operate our own analytics, crash, or account backend for this App.
3. Information we process
A. Information stored only on your device
The App stores a small amount of data locally with iOS (including via Google’s UMP SDK), such as:
• Your advertising / privacy consent choices and a flag that first-launch privacy messaging has already been offered
This stays on the device. We do not upload it to our own servers. Deleting the App removes it.
B. Photos, camera, and videos (on-device)
When you use Boltz: Strobe Art, the App:
• Uses the camera, if you choose Take Photo, to capture a still image on the device (including any on-device filter you apply)
• Reads the photo you choose from your Photo Library, if you choose Choose Photo
• Builds a strobe-art video from that image on the device
• Saves the finished video to your Photo Library
We do not transmit your photo or video content to Synesthesia Labs. We do not send your photos or videos to Google for advertising.
Camera access is used only to take the still photo you choose to capture. The App does not record microphone audio and does not use the camera in the background.
If iCloud Photos is enabled, Apple may store and sync your library under Apple’s policies. That is Apple’s processing, not ours.
C. Information we do not collect ourselves
We do not ask for your name, email, phone number, postal address, payment card, contacts, precise GPS location, or health data.
We do not provide a login or account inside Boltz: Strobe Art.
If you email us (for example at loganvoss.work@gmail.com), we receive whatever you choose to send, and we use it only to respond and keep a record of the request.
If you make an in-app purchase through the App Store, Apple processes the payment under Apple’s policies. We do not receive your payment card number.
D. Advertising — Google AdMob interstitial ads
The App displays full-screen interstitial ads during the loading screen that appears while your video is being created. An ad is requested every time that loading screen is shown.
Ads are served by Google AdMob.
Google and, where applicable, its advertising partners may automatically collect or receive:
• Device and advertising identifiers, including IDFA if you allow tracking, and other identifiers such as IDFV
• IP address and approximate location derived from IP (not precise GPS from us)
• Device and App information (device model, operating system, language, time zone, App version, bundle identifier)
• Ad request, impression, click, and view data
• Diagnostic information used to serve, measure, and protect ads (for example fraud and invalid traffic detection)
• Consent and privacy-choice signals from UMP and ATT
If you consent to personalized ads, Google may use this information (together with information Google already has from your use of Google services) to show ads more relevant to you.
If you refuse personalized ads, or ATT is denied, or you later opt out, we still may show non-personalized / limited ads. Those ads can still use technical information needed to deliver an ad (for example IP address, coarse location, and device type) but are not based on your advertising profile.
E. Consent records (Google UMP)
In the EEA, UK, Switzerland, applicable U.S. states, and other regions where Google requires a consent or privacy message, the App presents Google’s User Messaging Platform form when you first open the App.
UMP may process:
• Your consent choices (accept, reject, or granular purposes / partners)
• A consent string or signal shared with Google
• Technical data needed to show the form and remember your choice (for example IP address, device type, and region)
You can change or withdraw those choices later. See Sections 6 and 8.
F. Apple App Tracking Transparency and IDFA
On iOS / iPadOS, the App requests App Tracking Transparency permission before accessing the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA).
• If you select “Allow,” Google may use IDFA and related data for personalized advertising and measurement, subject to your UMP choices where those apply.
• If you select “Ask App Not to Track,” or you later turn tracking off, the App will not access IDFA. Ads may still appear, but they will not use IDFA.
You can change this anytime in:
Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → Boltz: Strobe Art
Apple also offers a system-level Personalized Ads control under Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising.
We do not force tracking. Creating a video does not require IDFA.
4. How we use information
We and our advertising and platform partners use information to:
• Run Boltz: Strobe Art on your device (take or select a photo, apply on-device filters, create the video, save it to Photos)
• Show interstitial ads so we can offer a free version of the App
• Request, store, and honor privacy and advertising consent
• Measure whether ads were shown or clicked
• Detect fraud, invalid traffic, and abuse
• Respond to emails you send us
• Comply with law and platform rules (Apple, Google)
We do not use the App to build our own marketing list. We do not use your data for independent profiling outside the advertising and App Store services described here. We do not use your photos or videos to train AI models.
5. Advertising partner — Google
Our advertising partner is Google LLC and its affiliates, through Google AdMob and related Google advertising / measurement services.

Google may act as an independent controller or as a processor, depending on the AdMob / UMP configuration and your region. Google’s policy explains Google’s own processing.
Ads may be supplied from Google’s ad network. We do not plug in additional third-party ad SDKs beyond Google AdMob / UMP.
6. Your choices and opt-outs
In the App
Open the Settings gear on the main screen, then:
• Tap Privacy Choices. This opens Google AdMob’s Do Not Sell or Share / privacy-options form (Google’s User Messaging Platform). There you can opt out of sale, sharing, and targeted advertising, withdraw consent, refuse personalized ads, or change ad-purpose / partner choices where the form offers them.
• Tap Privacy Policy to view this page.
On your Apple device
• Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking — turn off tracking for Boltz: Strobe Art or for all apps
• Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising — turn off Personalized Ads
• Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera — turn off camera access for Boltz: Strobe Art (you can still choose a photo from your library)
• Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos — change Photo Library access
• Delete the App to remove local consent flags stored on the device (videos already saved to Photos stay in Photos)
With Google
Use https://myadcenter.google.com or https://adssettings.google.com to opt out of personalized Google ads across participating apps and sites (this is a Google account / device control, not something we host).
Revocation
You can withdraw advertising consent and opt out of sale / share / targeted advertising at any time by:
1. Settings gear → Privacy Choices (this opens the AdMob Do Not Sell or Share / UMP privacy form)
2. Emailing loganvoss.work@gmail.com with the subject line “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information”
3. Turning off tracking for Boltz: Strobe Art in iOS Settings
Withdrawal does not affect processing that already happened. You can still use Boltz: Strobe Art after you withdraw. You may still see non-personalized ads.
We do not require personalized ads to use the App.
7. Legal bases (EEA, United Kingdom, Switzerland) — GDPR / UK GDPR / FADP
If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, we process personal data only where a legal basis applies.
Consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a); ePrivacy / PECR where applicable)
• Storing or accessing advertising identifiers and similar information that is not strictly necessary
• Personalized advertising, advertising measurement that depends on consent, and sharing consent signals with Google
• Access to IDFA after you allow tracking
You can refuse consent without losing the core App (take or select a photo, create a video, save it). You can withdraw consent at any time via in-app Privacy Choices, ATT settings, or by contacting loganvoss.work@gmail.com. Withdrawal does not affect processing that already happened.
Legitimate interests (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f))
• Providing a free app supported by non-personalized ads
• Security, fraud prevention, and invalid-traffic detection
• Responding to support email
• Remembering your privacy-messaging state on device
Where we rely on legitimate interests, we balance those interests against your rights. You may object by emailing us or by using the in-app / device controls.
Performance of a contract (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b))
• Operating the App features you choose to use, including on-device camera capture, photo selection, video creation, and saving to Photos
Compliance with law (GDPR Art. 6(1)(c))
• Keeping records needed to show we asked for consent, and responding to lawful requests
Categories of personal data (where generated)
• Device and advertising identifiers
• IP address and approximate location
• Device / App technical data
• Ad event data
• Consent choices
• Camera access limited to the still photo you take, and Photo Library access limited to the photo you select and the video you save (processed on device; we do not receive a copy on our servers)
• Contents of emails you send us
We do not intentionally process special-category data (GDPR Art. 9).
Your GDPR / UK GDPR rights
You may have the right to:
• Access your personal data
• Correct inaccurate data
• Erase data
• Restrict or object to processing
• Data portability
• Withdraw consent at any time
• Lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority (in the UK, the ICO; in the EEA, your local data protection authority; in Switzerland, the FDPIC)
Because we do not run user accounts, much of the advertising data is held by Google, and Photo Library data is held by Apple. We will help where we can. For Google-held ad data, use Google’s tools and policy pages above. For Photos / iCloud, use your Apple Account and Photos settings.
To exercise rights with us, email loganvoss.work@gmail.com.
8. U.S. state privacy (CCPA / CPRA and similar laws)
If you are a resident of California or another U.S. state with a consumer privacy law (including, where applicable, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Oregon, Texas, and similar statutes), this section applies.
Categories
In the last 12 months, the App may have collected or caused to be collected the categories below, for the purposes in Section 4:
• Identifiers (advertising ID / IDFA if allowed, IP address)
• Internet or electronic network activity (ad requests, impressions, clicks)
• Approximate geolocation (from IP, via advertising partners)
• Inferences used by Google for ads, if you allow personalized ads
• Device information
We do not collect Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, precise geolocation from the App, or contents of your private communications other than email you send us.
We do not collect your photo or video content on our servers. Photos you take or select are processed on device.
Sale, share, and targeted advertising
We do not sell personal information for money.
Personalized advertising through Google AdMob can be “sharing” or “targeted advertising” / “cross-context behavioral advertising” under CPRA and similar laws.
We do not share personal information except:
• With Google for advertising, measurement, and security as described above
• With Apple for camera and Photo Library access you grant, and for App Store distribution
• If required by law, or to protect rights, safety, or the App
Right to opt out of sale / share / targeted advertising
You can opt out of sale, sharing, and targeted advertising by:
1. Opening the Settings gear and tapping Privacy Choices, which opens Google AdMob’s Do Not Sell or Share / U.S. state privacy form. Use that form to refuse personalized ads / withdraw advertising consent
2. Choosing “Ask App Not to Track” (or turning Tracking off in iOS Settings)
3. Using Google Ad Settings: https://myadcenter.google.com
4. Emailing loganvoss.work@gmail.com with the subject line “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information”
If you opt out, you can still use Boltz: Strobe Art. You may still see ads, including non-personalized ads.
We do not knowingly sell or share personal information of consumers under 16.
Other U.S. rights
Depending on your state, you may also request:
• To know / access what we collected
• Deletion
• Correction
• A copy of data in a portable format
• Not to be discriminated against for exercising privacy rights
Email loganvoss.work@gmail.com. We will verify the request by a reasonable method (for example, confirming control of the email account used to write us). You may use an authorized agent as your state law allows.
We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes that require a separate CPRA “limit the use” right beyond what is described here.
9. Children
Boltz: Strobe Art is a general-audience app. It is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA / UK where that age applies), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If you believe a child provided personal information to us, email loganvoss.work@gmail.com and we will delete what we control and disable personalized advertising insofar as we can.
Parents and guardians can use ATT, in-app Privacy Choices, and Apple Screen Time controls.
10. Retention
• On-device consent flags: until you reset them, reinstall, or we have to request consent again (for example if the consent message or law changes)
• Email you send us: as long as needed to handle the request and keep a normal support record
• Photos you take or select and videos you save: retained in your Photo Library under Apple’s policies; we do not keep a separate copy
• Advertising data: retained by Google under Google’s policies
We do not keep a separate cloud copy of your photos or videos.
11. Security
We store only minimal data on the device and do not run our own account servers. Video creation happens on the device. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Apple and Google apply their own security controls to Photos, the App Store, and AdMob.
12. International transfers
We are based in the United States. Google and Apple may process data in the United States and other countries. Those countries may not provide the same legal protections as your home country. Where required, those companies use their own transfer mechanisms (for example Standard Contractual Clauses). Details are in Google’s and Apple’s privacy policies.
13. Third-party links
The App or this page may link to Apple, Google, or other sites we do not control. Their privacy practices are their own.
14. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy. The “Last Updated” date at the top will change. The current version will always be at:
https://sites.google.com/view/boltzart/home
If we make material changes (for example a new advertising SDK or an account system), we will update this page and, where required, ask for consent again.
