This Privacy Policy explains how BOLO Scanner ("we," "our," or "the app") handles information when you use the BOLO Scanner mobile application.
BOLO Scanner is designed to help users scan clothing and brand labels and compare recognized text against a saved watchlist.
Camera access is used to scan text visible on labels and tags.
Brand names, subcategories, and optional price ranges you enter are stored as part of your watchlist.
If iCloud is enabled on your device, your watchlist and related app settings may sync through Apple's iCloud services.
Subscription status is managed through Apple's App Store and StoreKit services.
Camera text recognition is used to detect possible brand matches while scanning.
Your saved watchlist is used to show buy, pass, and review results in the app.
Optional iCloud sync is used to keep your watchlist and settings available across your Apple devices signed into the same iCloud account.
Subscription information is used to determine whether premium access is active after the free trial period.
BOLO Scanner is designed so that camera text recognition runs on-device. We do not operate our own remote server for scanning your camera feed or processing your watchlist.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use third-party advertising SDKs, third-party trackers, or analytics services in the app.
Some information may be processed by Apple when you use Apple services such as:
iCloud sync, if enabled on your device
In-app purchases and subscription management through the App Store
If you choose to import or export brand lists or backups, those files are handled at your direction. Exported files are created by the app so you can save or share them. Imported files are read only when you explicitly choose them.
Watchlist information remains stored on your device until you edit it, delete it, delete the app, or clear the data through app features. If iCloud sync is enabled, synced data may also remain in your iCloud account subject to Apple's retention practices.
You can deny camera access in iOS Settings.
You can edit or delete saved brands inside the app.
You can delete all saved brands using the app's management tools.
You can manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple ID subscription settings.
You can disable iCloud for the app through your Apple account and device settings, if applicable.
BOLO Scanner is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We take a minimal-data approach and aim to keep your information limited to what the app needs to function. However, no method of storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date shown at the top of this page.
