Strip brushes have become synonymous with sealing, cleaning and protecting machinery, making them one of the most versatile and widely used industrial tools available. A simple concept, just a series of parallel rows of bristles nestled inside a stiff plastic or metal backing gives the strip brushes the useful combination of practicality, adjustability for various uses, and longevity.
The strip brushes
Some important seal uses for strip brushes are sealing openings on machinery other than conveyor systems and access doors, strip brushes can help deter moisture, dust, dirt, air, and/or light into sensitive areas. Strip brushes in a controlled area of a manufacturing plant or storage seals the potential leakage area of air and helps energy performance. Strip brushes assist thermal conduction by slowing the escape of heat or cooling in temperature controlled areas, lowering energy demand/cost.
Once any contamination is considered, strip brushes provide an additional barrier/boundary to contamination: lessening or eliminating the collection of fines and static in clean rooms and food processing and electronics manufacturing and production, leading to a cleaner process contributing to product safety.
Multi-purpose cleaning and maintenance of surfaces
Strip brushes are useful brushes utilized for cleaning, polishing, or sealing purposes. They can go on a conveyor belt, on a production line or in certain mechanical devices, to help remove debris, shavings, or powder. Strip brushes can also be specified to use certain filament material, such as nylon, polypropylene, steel wire, or natural fiber, in either abrasive or non-abrasive applications, depending on the case at hand. In any application involving woodworking, metal finishing, or packaging, strip brushes will keep surfaces smooth, polished, and contaminant free.
Strip brushes can be any shape or configuration to match any type of equipment and mechanical designs, which can also be straight, circular, or spiral. Strip brushes can also have bristles that are manufactured with varying density or stiffness and even configured with channel material for heavier duty industrial applications or sealing configurations.
