Dr. Bogireddy Chandra

Dr. Chandra Bogireddy is currently a Visiting Scholar in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Shantou University in China. Prior to this, he worked as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at Vardhaman College of Engineering in Hyderabad. He earned his B.Tech. in Civil Engineering from Sri Kalahasteeswara Institute of Technology, Srikalahasti, affiliated with Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, in 2010. During his B.Tech., he conducted research on the 'Effect of Treated Wastewater from the Phosphate Fertilizer Industry on Cement-Admixture Mortars' and the 'Effect of Treated Wastewater from the Battery Industry on Cement-Admixture Mortars.'

After completing his undergraduate studies, he worked as a Junior Engineer at Agri Gold Pvt. Ltd. in Hyderabad in 2010. In 2012, he earned his M.Tech. in Geotechnical Engineering from Sri Venkateswara University College of Engineering, S V University, Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, where he was the class topper. During his master's dissertation, he researched the 'Analysis of Engineering Behavior of Residual Tropical Soils-A Critical State Framework.' Following this, he worked as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at Sree Vidyanikethan Engineering College (Autonomous), Tirupati, A.P. from 2013 to 2014.

In 2019, he received his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the Civil Engineering Department at SVNIT, Surat, Gujarat, for his thesis titled 'Rapid Assessment of Compressibility Behaviour of Clayey Soil from Experimental and Finite Element (FE) Simulations.' During his research, he was awarded two Best Paper Awards in national conferences and delivered 26 guest lectures in national seminars. He served as Chairman of technical sessions and Evaluator for poster sessions in GeoINDUS, the Indian Geotechnical Conference 2019, organized by IGS Surat Chapter. He is currently a reviewer for Advances in Science, Technology and Engineering Systems Journal (ASTESJ), USA, and Sustainable Civil Infrastructures (Springer Journal). He is also an Honorary Editorial Board Member-Consulting Editor for Innovative Scientific Research Professional Malaysia, JETR Publisher, Malaysia.

Dr. Bogireddy is an Associate Member of ASCE, SM Institution of Civil Engineers, Associate Member of Institute of Engineers (India), and Fellow of FSIESRP Life Member. His areas of interest include basic geomechanics, numerical modeling in geomechanics, image analysis, site characterization, and earthquake engineering.
