My primary areas of research focus on representation in science and biomedical ethics. But I am interested in a wide range of questions and conceptual issues in ethics, science, medicine, artificial intelligence, and other areas.
I am currently working on a book project, tentatively titled Heads in the Clouds. It explores a range of philosophical issues in meteorological practice, with three primary sections:
Section One: Forecast and Prediction - Explores epistemological questions related to the nature and status of weather forecasts.
Section Two: Products and Measurement - Explores the nature and use of measurements and products in meteorological practice, including the way in which they ground forecasts.
Section Three: Science and Society - Explores the interplay of weather science in society and the future of forecasts, including the role of AI.
