The immune system is tasked with the essential function of protecting the human body by eradicating infectious agents. These agents can be as minuscule as viruses and as enormous as multicellular parasitic worms. It does so by using a complex yet coordinated system made of a plethora of cells and molecules. Immunology is the study of this immune system and its components. This study helps us to gain more insight into the roles of each of the components and how various cells and molecules work together to eliminate foreign particles entering the body. Next infodump onwards, the functions of the various constituents of the immune system and how they coordinate to form an intricate network will be explained.
