After almost a year in the watershed, our BOBs have returned more than a million pieces of data. Now we are focusing on evaluating the sensors for accuracy. On January 8, 2024, we installed three BOBs in a brackish classroom aquarium to allow us to compare water quality measurements among the units and against other monitoring devices and methods.

In addition to the regular 15-minute water quality readings our BOBs take automatically, we are taking readings by hand every class period (most weekdays) using a Hanna commercial meter, a spectrometer, and testing strips.
