Bob Donnelly is a candidate for reelection to Norwood’s Board of Selectmen for the April 7, 2025, town election. Bob has served Norwood in numerous roles over the course of his service to the Town. Prior to his election to the Board of Selectmen in 2022, he served on the Finance Commission, Budget Balancing Committee and Personnel Board. He currently chairs the Capital Outlay Committee and is a member of the Middle School Building Committee and the Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee. Bob has represented District 5 as a member of Town Meeting for 30 years.

About Bob
Bob and his wife Michelle have lived in Norwood for 35 years. They have a daughter, Erin, who like her dad, is a proud graduate of Norwood High School.
Bob has been serving Norwood in elected and appointed positions for over 30 years. Bob has proven that he has the experience, leadership qualities and communications skills to work with his Board colleagues and members of other boards and committees on the best ways to address the operational and financial challenges facing Norwood now and in the future.
Key Issues and Proven Experience
Bob has a record of proposing and supporting new ideas and practices that have resulted in better management and improved services and transparency. These include:
Led the successful effort to develop a Townwide Comprehensive Plan, a 10-year vision and roadmap for our Town's future. This Plan will be the foundational policy document for Norwood - guiding local decisions about future growth, preservation, and change
Addressed the financial and environmental impact of increasing waste removal costs by piloting a curbside food waste pick-up program across all Norwood
As a member of the Finance Commission, led the effort to establish a long-term financial forecast to identify structural deficits in the Town Budget
As Chair on the Capital Outlay Committee, facilitated the adoption by Town Meeting of Norwood's FY23 and FY24 Capital Improvement Plan to address the need for investment in the Town's physical assets and infrastructure
Delivering presentations to Town Meeting on the capital projects, programs, budget and the financial matters of the Town
Advocated for strong financial policies leading to improved levels of funding in the Town's reserve funds such as the Stabilization Fund
As a member of the Personnel Board, facilitated the creation of the Town's first centralized Human Resources Department
Bob believes that Norwood needs to focus on long-term goals and objectives. Norwood needs to be strategic in addressing significant capital and operational needs. This requires collaboration and communication across boards and commitees. Bob believes in collaboration to achieve success.
Public and Community Service
Bob has served on the Board of Selectmen since 2022. He previously served on the Finance Commission as well as many other committees including the Budget Balancing Committee, the Capital Outlay Committee, the Middle School Building Committee, Comprehensive Plan Steering Commitee, Stormwater Utility Committee and the Personnel Board.
Bob is a volunteer on the Norwood Concert Committee, Summerfest Committee, and the Norwood Food Pantry.
Election Day is Monday, April 7.
Polls are open 7am-8pm.
