# BoardSnap Privacy Policy

BoardSnap is a local visual board extension for Chrome. It helps users capture, organize, and present ideas directly in the browser. This policy explains what data BoardSnap handles, how that data is used, and how it is stored.

## What BoardSnap does

BoardSnap provides a private workspace for creating boards with notes, text, links, images, templates, slides, and exports. The extension is designed to store board data locally in the user's browser.

## Account and login

BoardSnap does not require account creation, login, or password-based access to use its core features.

## Data BoardSnap handles

- Board content created by the user, such as notes, text, links, layouts, and slides

- Images added by upload, paste, drag and drop, URL import, or visible-tab capture

- Temporary data needed to complete capture and export actions

- Local settings needed to restore the workspace between sessions

## How data is used

- To create, edit, organize, and present user boards

- To capture the visible browser tab only when the user explicitly requests it

- To import an image from a website URL only when the user explicitly provides that URL

- To export user-created content to the user's device in supported formats

## Storage and retention

BoardSnap stores board data locally in the user's browser using browser storage. BoardSnap is designed so that created content remains on the user's device unless the user chooses to export it.

Temporary capture data may be stored briefly in local browser storage only to complete the user's requested capture workflow.

## Permissions and website content

BoardSnap may handle website content only when the user explicitly chooses to capture the visible tab or import an image from a web address. For image URL import, BoardSnap requests access only to the specific site origin needed to fetch that image.

## Data sharing

BoardSnap does not sell user data. BoardSnap does not transfer user data to third parties for advertising, profiling, or unrelated purposes.

## Remote code

BoardSnap does not load or execute remote JavaScript or remote WebAssembly as part of the extension's packaged logic.

## Children's privacy

BoardSnap is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children.

## Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated if BoardSnap's features or data practices change. The latest published version should always reflect the current behavior of the extension.
