If you’re looking for a game that will give you that sense of pride and accomplishment when you win, this is it. And when you lose, well you’ll immediately want to play again.
I think it is best summed up with this anecdote. After playing a few dungeons with a friend who was fairly new to modern board games in general, I received a text the next day stating simply “I’ve got a cravin’ for the haven. When can we play again?”

Its hard to know where to start... I could write 20 pages for a game with a box that weighs 20 pounds. (I wonder how many times I can bring that up in this review.) But, this is a phenomenal game. It’s as close as you can get to a video game, in board games format. If you prefer board games to video games, then it’s better than anything you could imagine.
This is hands down my most played game. An incredibly engrossing co-operative campaign that can make hours fly by as if they were seconds. (Though yes, I say hours because it takes just about that long to set up and take down- though this can be improved with storage solutions or, of course, table top simulator.)
If your considering taking the plunge into Gloomhaven, rest assured. There will be no gloom in your choice.
