There are no set hours, you get to decide when you want to work. Essentially, there's a schedule with basic deadlines, such as when animations/models/etc are due, and you can invest however many hours per week you'd like, just as long as you complete the tasks before the deadlines.
The amount of work you're assigned is decided by you. If you're extremely busy outside of BOAP, you can take on a few tasks at a time, or if you're feeling ambitious, you can take on as many as you'd like. Just keep in mind that the tasks you assign yourself you must complete or resign before the deadline!
There is no minimum or maximum age requirement nor a location requirement. BOAP is open to anyone, anywhere.
We accept anyone, despite their experience level. However, keep in mind that those who have more experience will be at the top of the list. Don't give your hopes up though, we've had beginners participate on projects in the past before! If you can submit a great application, you can have a high chance of getting in.
Usually, no. We sometimes have a second hiring period during film production for cinematographers, editors, supervisors, or other contributors, but most of the time, we already have these people on-hand. We'll call out this second hiring phase if we choose to do it.
We do our modeling and animations in Blender. We'll state what version and engine we're using once the project begins. You are also required to have a Discord account, a Google account, and a valid email address. We use Discord for meetings, feedback, and all other progress checks, and Google Sheets, Google Docs, or other Google services for tracking the film progress. You may use any other software you'd like for compositing, GFX, CG prepping, drafting, etc.
