Genius Hour
What is Genius Hour?
Genius Hour is where students get to pick ANY subject that they are interested in or passionate about and learn about it. They conduct their research and then show the rest of us what they learned in some sort of project and presentation. It is extremely fun and engaging, and there are no boundaries--itโs completely up to your imagination how far you want to go with it! Projects can range from simple slideshow presentations to resulting in new inventions! The sky's the limit!
Here is the break down of how it works:
Step 1: Brainstorming. This is where you come up with some ideas and after you narrow it down, begin to think about what your final project could be.
Step 2: Planning. This is where you think through how you will complete your research and what you will need to complete your project.
Step 3: Research. In this step, you research and record what youโve learned! Use a variety of sources--online, books, videos, people, etc.
Step 4: Complete Project. This is the fun part! You get to create whatever you want to show other people what you learned. Be creative--you could write a song, make a video, create a board game, make a slideshowโฆ the list goes on!
Step 5: Present Project. Now you get to show and tell! We will get together in a zoom meeting and share our presentations!
