Why BNY Mellon?

Bank of New York Mellon (BNY Mellon) is in the business of genocide. If they're doing it with your money - divest! If you're a person of conscience, make sure they know it's bad business that we won't abide here in our city. Following the lead of comrades in Atlanta, Houston, and New York, we know that targeting BNY Mellon's corporate offices has meaningful impact in making clear there's no business as usual!

We say NO to BNY's genocide profiteering. We demand BNY divests from Elbit Systems, the Friends of the "IDF" Fund, and all genocide profiteering.

BNY Mellon, a bank and investment firm that handles over $45.7 trillion in assets, is a top investor in Elbit Systems. Elbit Systems is Israel's largest weapons manufacturer. Elbit manufactures cluster munitions, internationally-banned white phosphorus, and weaponized drones that the IOF has used to martyr over (30,000)* Palestinians since October 7. BNY Mellon has continued to increase their holdings with Elbit, including since October 7th, to a total of 68,000 shares valued at $13 million. This is direct profiteering from genocide. Elbit systems is on the BDS Movement list of Divestment and Exclusion targets. No business as usual for genocide profiteers!

BNY Mellon is the sole manager of the Friends of the “IDF” fund, authorizing the bank to collect charitable, tax-exempt donations on behalf of Israel Occupation Forces. From Oct-Dec 2023, Friends of the "IDF", through BNY Mellon, funneled $31 million of private US money to the IOF to mass murder Palestinians. On top of the $3.3 billion dollars the US sends annually and the $14 billion in taxpayer dollars the US has sent to fund the Israeli Occupation’s ongoing genocide of Palestinians.

No more work as usual. We are here to show the workers and investors of BNY what their labor produces--indiscriminate and brutal killings. We call on BNY Mellon workers and investors to join us in the demand for BNY's divestment from Elbit Systems, the Friends of the "IDF" Fund, and all genocide profiteering.

People of conscience must raise their voices to say: Divest from the Business of Genocide! End the Siege on Gaza! End the Occupation! Free Free Palestine!

*(We know that until we collectively stop this genocide this figure is continuously increasing, by the time you read this, it has increased.)

Get people who do business with BNY Mellon to divest unless / until BNY Mellon divests from Elbit and ceases their management of the Friends of the "IDF" Fund.
