ON THE RISE. Two 4-story buildings and another one 2-story are being constructed for BNHS-Junior High School. This will add another 50 classrooms to cater to the booming student population.
Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, Bataan National High School-Junior High School will soon house another two 4-story buildings thereby addressing the classroom shortage issue as its student population increases.
"These building projects were already on-going before the pandemic hits last year. Although, we do not have face-to-face classes yet we can be assured that by the time it is allowed to hold such we have the full capacity to accommodate all our enrollees," Dr. Alma V. Poblete, principal IV explained.
The new building projects which cost 47 million pesos will house 50 classrooms in addition to the 103 usable classrooms on the campus.
Grade Level Zoning
Once face-to-face classes resume in the coming school years, the administration plans to implement the zoning of grade levels with Grades 7 and 8 being housed in the school "Annex" area while Grades 9 and 10 will occupy the main buildings.
"With this kind of set up, we could be able to minimize the incidences of higher grade level students bullying lower grade level students. And faculty rooms will be centralized by Grade level so they can really collaborate with learning support projects suited for their learners and can openly communicate with one another," added Dr. Poblete.

With the influx of private school students to public schools, Bataan National High School-Junior High School's population shoots up with a 5 percent increase from last School Year's 5, 597 to 5, 876 enrollees this year.
"Students from private schools are migrating to public schools and I believe that we have had a fair share in accepting these students. The five percent increase which is 279 students is already a massive number for a big school like us," said Dr. Alma V. Poblete, principal IV.
As the school year unfolds, the admin continues to see incoming transferees from private institutions in the province.

Teachers were deployed to different drop off and receiving points in the province to facilitate the distribution and retrieval of Self-Learning Materials to students.
As the class opening begins, Bataan National High School equips its teachers with the necessary skills and knowledge in online teaching laying out its plan for continuous digital upskilling training-workshops.
Mr. Renato M. Fernando, a Master Teacher II and ICT Coordinator of BNHS, leads the first training in the series on the use of Google Classroom which also aims to boost the confidence and capability of teachers who will handle online classes in School Year 2020-2021.
“There is no other way for us to have classes come opening so we have to partly migrate online and in preparation we have to capacitate our teachers by conducting like training,” he said.
The training comes in batches for five weeks with three teachers coming from each subject area department including Dangcol (BNHS Annex) were taught the fundamentals of Google Classroom and how each feature works. They had hands-on experience in creating a class, adding students, giving class codes, creating quizzes, assignments, activities, and other forms, creating Google Meet links for their online classes. A live online demonstration teaching on the last day of training is also held with the presence of Dr. Alma V. Poblete, Principal IV.
Another workshop is eyed on a radio broadcast and video production and editing after this first leg of training.
