Welcome to our lab at NCCS! We investigate the neural control of innate and learned feeding behavior in the context of the brain-gut axis in flies. We would like to understand how components of food, like taste, nutrients, and toxins, are perceived in the gut and how these signals are communicated to the brain to influence the acceptance or rejection of specific foods.
