End of School...
Congratulations to the students of BMMS for completing yet another school year. Bravo to the teachers and staff of BMMS for providing an excellent learning environment and the opportunity for our children to succeed and advance to their next endeavors. A big thanks also goes out to those parents who volunteered their time and effort for both school and PTA sponsored events. Bravo and thanks again!
More of Our Students: Science Olympiad National Championship at Michigan State University
Over the Memorial Day weekend, seventeen Burleigh Manor students traveled to Michigan State University to compete in the Science Olympiad National Championship. After winning the State Championship in April, the Burleigh Manor team was invited to be the ONLY Middle School team to represent Maryland at the Nationals. Competing against over sixty of the best Middle School teams in the country, the Burleigh Manor squad finished in the top half of the standings and won medals in two of the events (Agricultural Science and Solar Power).
This is a tremendous achievement, particularly given the strength of the competition. The BMMS Team worked hard, competed as a team, supported each other, and had fun. They represented the school, the community, and the State with class, grace, and dedication.
Our Students: Burleigh Manor at the International Academic Competitions in Orlando
During five days around Memorial Day weekend, 18 Burleigh Manor students mingled with the cream of the crop of the Nation and, as always, made us proud. Parents and coaches from all over the country are always impressed by our kids’s ability to win with humility and lose with grace. They are outstanding in both situations.
Our students competed in the Bees - individual competition with a buzzer, Jeopardy style, in the Bowls - team competition with a buzzer, and in written exams about multiple subjects. They also had the opportunity to compete in a Model United Nations competition, debating the topic of rainforest conservation, or in a crossword puzzle competition.
No need to list all the medals and plaques that came back to Ellicott City. Congratulations to all Burleigh participants

As the current school year comes to an end, the BMMS PTA has a number of important open positions for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year. Rising 7th and 8th Graders - School Year 2024-2025
The Maryland State Department of Health and Mental Hygiene requires all 7th and 8th graders in the State of Maryland have one Tdap and one Meningitis (MCV4) vaccine BEFORE entering school. Your child MUST have these completed BEFORE the first day of the 2024-2025 school year.
Please email a copy of their updated vaccine record to BMMSHealthroom@hcpss.org.

Mt Hebron HS Viking Backers Boosters Summer Camps
Once again, Viking Backers is offering fun and educational sports camps at Mt Hebron High School for incoming kindergarten thru 9th grade students. Camps will be run by our varsity coaches and continue throughout the summer beginning Monday, June 10th. Each camper will receive a tee shirt.
