About Us

The Biomedical Engineering Society is the premier professional society for biomedical engineering and bioengineering, having roots since 1968. The VCU Student Chapter proudly traces its establishment to January 23, 1987, marking our 36th year as an integral chapter. Initially, our chapter was the domain of graduate students. However, with the inception of the undergraduate biomedical engineering program in 1998, leadership and management of the chapter transitioned to our enthusiastic undergraduate students.
